Manchester enjoys food and drink festival | Ferry News

Visitors to the north-west of England crossing from Ireland on ferries from Dublin to Liverpool can enjoy a culinary treat in Manchester right now.

The Manchester Food and Drink Festival began last week (September 21st) and will run until October 8th, offering plenty of chances to enjoy a wide range of cuisine, some interesting tipples and a range of associated activities.

Events will be centred on the festival Hub in Albert Square, by the town hall.

One particular highlight at the Hub will be a masterclass by celebrity chef John Torode in association with tram operator Metrolink on September 29th, with a combined ticket providing cut-price access to the nearby St Peter's tram stop as well as entry to the class.

Elsewhere in the city, there will be a cheese and wine festival in the Freemason's Hall on September 28th-29th and the Independent Manchester Beer Convention at Victoria Baths in the south of the city on October 5th-6th.

Visitors to the city in the month before Christmas can enjoy more food-related experiences as the city's festive markets feature a variety of edible products from a number of countries, from paella to continental cheeses.
